Everyday on the news, we heard that there’s a new discovery that men had made on technology. It may sound splendid but there’s a darker side of it. The more we discover about technology, the more addicted we get. Some people can’t handle the addiction and will experience what- so called “disconnectivity anxiety”. This experience defined by Dr. Jim Taylor as a persistent and unpleasant condition characterized by worry and unease caused by periods of technological disconnection from others. Not just that, people dependencies on technology also hinders their creativity and their affects communication. As communicating online replaces face-to-face communication it blunts our social skills. Technology prevents us from experiencing real life communication situation and at once makes it difficult for some people to handle the situation when it occurs. This kind of scene could develop a social anxiety in one’s life. Plus, more time online means less time in spending time interacting with human. This causes one to gaining less real life companions and leads to depression and loneliness. This were proved by a poll conduct by Slate that suggests the number of adults who describe themselves as “lonely” has doubled since 1980. In a nutshell, technology brought many pros in communication but with that pros comes the cons of it. People dependencies on technology is slowly limiting society’s perspective of thinking and at once making us more and more dependent and unimaginative in creating an innovation. Other than that, technology that is supposed to connect people from across the globe pushed people in our surroundings further away from us and leads us into developing social interaction problems such as social anxiety and bullying. In conclusion, it is fair to conclude that people dependencies on technology in their daily lives has heavily affected many aspects of human creativity and
