The history of Germany began when it was founded in the year 1862. On September 23, 1862 the king of Prussia appointed Otto von Bismarck to get a “blood- and- iron” policy so that a united Germany could be created under the leadership of Prussia. The Germanic tribes which originated from a mixture of people along the Baltic Sea Coast inhabited the northern part of the Europe by 500 B.C. and by 100 BC they moved into Central and Southern areas of Germany. At that time there were three major groups of tribes which were the; Eastern Germanic people and they lived along the Oder and Vistula Rivers; and the northern Germanic people inhabited the southern part of Scandinavia; and the Western Germanic people and how did the extreme South of Jutland …show more content…

Then there was a battle and the Romans halted their expansion. The battle brought liberation to the greater part of Germany form Roman domination. After the battle the Rhine River was the boundary line until the Romans reoccupied the territory on the Eastern Banks and built the the Limes, which were 300 kilometers long. Through the next six centuries there was a period of change and destruction, this caused the Germanic tribes to leave their homes and native lands and settle in a new territory. This period of Germanic history, supplied material for the heroic epics, also included the downfall of the Roman empire and resulted in an expansion of habitable area for Germanic people. Some of the important people in German history are Adolf Hitler, Anne Frank, Martin Luther, Alfred Wegener, and Otto Frank. These people were all important for reasons. For example adolf hitler was important because he was one of the world's most notorious dictators and he led Germany into World War II and was the leader of the Nazis and was at many battles and was wounded at some of them.
