D Day and The Raids on Normandy France
“The darkest place i 've ever seen was inside me, and nothing ever scared me more” - Anonymous. In this essay I will teach you about the horrors and battles of D-day in Normandy France. D-day was famous for the bloodshed and probably one of the worst battles fought in WWII because of all of the casualties. It was a horrible time, and I will speak more about it in these next few paragraphs. The casualties on D-day were innumerable from all the gunfire and mortars on the hilltop, as well as landmines on the beach. The concrete blocks gave very little cover as soldiers from all of the alliance powers were gunned down while paratroopers get shot out of the sky. Some even sadly turned into concentration camps though none of the raids on D-day were directed towards saving jews from the concentration camps, I am sure that was on the agenda for later in the war.
