We speak, we drink water, we follow laws, we follow roads. We have many instinctive actions that we do on a daily basis. But some of these things were influenced by the Romans.
For example, Romans had the language of Latin. Poetry, histories, fictional stories, and dramas were all written in Latin. Everyone in Rome could understand Latin, and it helped unify the empire by having no different way of speech.
Roman aqueducts spread across the empire, brining water from faraway mountains, from river and lakes, and to the city, where once it was used, the water would be flushed down to a lake.
