Would big brother last in society today ? How would big brother fall? Throughout history united states has gone through different types of government control, but has mainly been a democracy. We were brought up throughout time to become a democracy for the better, we are based off of this government style for the people which makes it essentially better as the people have more of a say in what happens, and what is going on and to be informed. In the novel 1984 written by George Orwell the people live in a repressed society where government controls and watches almost everything they say and do. This is one of the main reasons why the Nineteen Eighty-Four novel written by Author George Orwell would eventually come to a fall. Our society, essentially likes to have a choice or say and the moment you strip this away problems arise and we see this through many historical events like the civil rights movement. The Civil Rights Movement was a human rights movement from 1954–1968 that encompassed strategies, groups, and social movements to accomplish its goal of ending legalized racial segregation and discrimination laws in the United States. This being an example of the people coming together to fix a problem that was going on in society and in the government system that lasted many years it took time but eventually the problem was solved. This shows that the people living in George Orwell's dystopian society could have done something to revolt or eventually
