1. I am Tim Howard, and I am a one of the best professional and American goalkeepers. I was born into on March 16, 1979 in North Brunswick Township, New Jersey. My mom, Esther Howard, was a Hungarian born school teacher. My dad was an American truck driver, but he moved out of our apartment when I was a toddler, so I never got to bond with him. I have an older brother Chris who has inspired me to stand up for others as he stood up for me when I grew up in North Wood Estates, the apartment complex I lived in when I was a child. When I was eleven, I was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome meaning that would have tics like grunting, shrugging my shoulders, and rolling my eyes. A net is a symbol that represents me because I play goalkeeper in soccer. It also represents me because a net can be support one they fall, and I feel that in soccer I can be called the support of the team as I help keep all of my teammates with their heads held high. A soccer ball is an important symbol in my life. Because I have played goalkeeper professionally for over 15 twenty years, a soccer ball is a very special symbol. A soccer ball is an important symbol because I hold the record for most saves in a soccer game, and a making those saves made me feel very honored as I am one of the best goalies ever. The Metrostars logo is very important symbol to me because it is where I started my professional career as a soccer player. Starting my career as a soccer player has helped me to learn from others and that everyone is a support beam to others. The logo also represents that one can learn more from losing. When I played for the Metrostars, we rarely won a game, and losing is the best way to learn because if one wins every game than one has nothing to improve on in soccer. These people include Tim Mulqueen, my person soccer coach, Chris Howard, my brother, and Kasey Keller, a former American starting goalkeeper and teammate on the United States National Soccer team. Tim Mulqueen, my personal soccer coach, is a huge role model to me. He taught me that just because one does not get paid does not mean one cannot teach them. Mulqueen was my soccer coach because I did not have the money to pay him to coach me did not make him shy away from teaching me. He has also coached me on how to improve my goalkeeping. My brother, Chris Howard, is a huge role model to me because he taught me to stand up for others. When I was growing up, I would walk play sports in Northwood Estates, the apartment complex that I lived in, with teens. I would get in fights with the teens, so my brother would have to stand up for me. While he stood up for me, I learned that one should always stand up for others as he stood up for me. Kasey Keller, a former American starting goalkeeper and teammate on the United States National Soccer team, helped me to learn how to become a better keeper. Because I would watch him play, I learned how to stay relaxed and be confident while in goal. Being relaxed is important because if I was to be stressed out, I would have a tics which would cause me to miss and easy save. Being confident is an important feeling to posses in goal.
