Many things lead up to the American Revolution. The Battle of Lexington and Concord is a major stepping stone in the American Revolution.
After looking at both the American account and the English account from The Battle of Lexington, The English account provides more information to prove that the Americans might have shot first. The British soldiers wanted to avoid violence, when shots were fired it was a quick skirmish and the british army was barely wounded.1 Earlier a letter was sent to General Gage in January but received in April. The letter included that , Dartmouth, Gage’s higher in command ordered gage, in letter to use force against the patriots.2 The American’s could have figured out that the English were planning on coming because the General Gage was married to Margaret Kemble, an American colonial women. It is said that she had spied against him out of sympathy
On the 25th of June 1876 on the ‘greasy’ grass of Dakota the Battle of the Little Big Horn occurred. Sioux and Cheyenne Indians defiantly left their reservations, outraged over the continued intrusions of whites into their sacred lands in the Black Hills. They gathered in Montana with the great warrior Sitting Bull to fight for their lands. Determined to resist the efforts of the U.S Army to force them onto reservations, Indians under the leadership of Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse wipe out Lieutenant Colonel George Custer and much of his 7th Cavalry at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. The Battles of Lexington and Concord had led to the start of the Revolution. On April 19, 1775, a large number of British soldiers had planned to invade and steal important military weapons and equipment that were stored by the American colonists. In a few minutes time, the British troops had ran across a series of cannons, which was what they needed to abolish. Unfortunately, on their way to destroy these cannons, the British were confronted by the colonists, and forced to battle. A few troops from either side were killed or wounded, but the colonists remain victorious in this battle.
Revolutionary War Response It all began with “the shot heard round the world,” also known as the shot that was fired at Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts on April 19th, 1775. This signaled the start of the American Revolution. However, another factor that led up to the battles were the lack of civil liberties and the efforts to regain them by the colonist. A combination of different conflicts that arose between Great Britain and the thirteen colonies resulted in battles fought for independence, and equal rights amongst all of the people.
Massachusetts impact to colonial America was thoroughly important. Many events leading up to the American Revolution occurred in Massachusetts; events such as the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. The crown responded to these events by closing Boston ports in 1774. These events fueled colonist’s desire to fight the Crown, and lit the fuze to the American Revolution. Founding Fathers such as John Adams, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Joseph Warren.
The Battle of Valmy started on September 20, 1792. The Battle of Valmy took place near the town of Valmy, in northeastern France. This battle was the first major battle of the War of the First Coalition. This battle took place during the French Revolutionary Wars. The battle consisted of the French Army and the combined forces of Prussian and Austrian troops.
By definition, “mission command is the exercise of authority and direction by the commander using mission orders to enable disciplined initiative within the commander’s intent to empower agile and adaptive leaders in the conduct of unified land operations,” according to ADRP 5-0. Mission command is about knowing when to change the task to fit the purpose. This paper is intended to analyze the mission command of one side of the battle, focusing on the commander’s role in the operations process. The battle of Wanat was a major battle during Operation Enduring Freedom. It took place early in the morning of July 13, 2008. Combat Outpost Kayler is the small outpost that was over run at Wanat, in the Waygal district of Afghanistan. The Soldiers of second platoon, Chosen Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Combat Team, were the primary forces under attack along with some coalition forces. The conflict originated a few weeks before the battle, when attack helicopters engaged a convoy of Taliban.
If the Boston Tea Party had never happened many aspects of American life would be altered. Great Britain lost a large amount of money because of the colonies during this event, and in the end they lost the Colonies. The Colonists were punished for wasting Great Britain’s money, so they decided to fight back. The Boston Tea Party also caused a war and earned the Colonies their freedom.
The Battle of Chancellorsville was fought from April 30, 1863- May 6, 1863. This was one of Robert E. Lee’s greatest victory during the American Civil War due to him facing an enemy force nearly twice the size of his own. The battle was fought because of the Unionj troops crossing Rapphahnnock River. When the Union troop crossed the river it caused the conderates to retaliate. The war would not end until the Unions retreated back to there
Historically, it is believed that the causes of large scale events and wars are often rooted in the outcomes of previous conflicts. The American Revolution, one of the largest most historically significant events of all time, was caused by a multitude of events. Specifically, many of the causes were in fact the results of past conflicts and ongoing tension, such as the French and Indian War and British taxation acts. Contrary to popular belief, the impact of American Revolution was not solely confined to the colonies and the British crown. Aside from leading to American independence, the American Revolution was a part of a larger global conflict, involving issues between Great Britain, France, and other foreign nations.
The Battle of Saratoga in September and October of 1777 is the turning point of the Revolutionary War because the French joined with allies, British troops surrendered their arms, and the Patriots had crucial victories. It was a victory for the Patriots in the American Revolution and is the most decisive battles in history. The Battle began as a plan by the British to control New York and isolate New England from the Southern colonies and put an end to the Revolution. Which ended as an opportunity for the Patriots.
If the following events didn’t take place we wouldn’t have America. In my opinion the Boston Massacre was one of the very main causes to why the Road to Revolution took place. The reason I believe this was an important cause because it was, “ the first episode which resulted in the loss of life.” It is stated that, “Four Bostonians were killed when Redcoats fired into an angry mob.”
