The adventures of Huckleberry Finn is a book about a boy who goes on a quest to free a runaway slave. there is a lot of racism in the south which is where the book is taking place Huck But doesn’t agree with them. The population is against Huck and doesn’t like his view of slaves. When analyzing Huck and Jim's relation relationship the true nature of Huck views and the views of society are revealed. Huck’s actions are influenced by the views of society and that of his own. He is deciding whether to send a letter to mrs.Watson and ends up ripping it up. This is Huck coming to terms with his moral views and how they conflict with others. This is what Huck thinks Jim is worth but the rest of society thinks otherwise. “ ‘Well I reckon! there’s two hundred dollars’ reward on him. it's like picking up money out’n the road.’ ” (203) This is said to Huck about Jim. The quote shows how people think of Jim not as a person but as a reward waiting to be claimed. Huck does not think like this and he wants Jim to be free. I ain't a-going to tell.’ ” (43) This is said by Huck to Jim, This shows how Huck knows that he is doing something “wrong” and acknowledged it but doesn’t care because he knows what he is doing is actually right. Huck’s beliefs changed how he acted in this situation if he were almost anyone else he would have told on Jim but not Huck. “It was fifteen minutes before I could work myself up to go and humble myself to a nigger; but I done it, and I warn't ever sorry for it afterward, neither. I didn't do him no more mean tricks, and I wouldn't done that one if I'd 'a' knowed it would make him feel that way.” this is what happened after Huck tries to trick Jim into believing that he dreamt that they got separated. Huck’s morals told him that he cared for Jim and that he needed to apologize again if there were almost anyone else in that situation it would have turned out
