Of all the model nations, Japan and Saudi Arabia have the least crime. Each of the other model nation's struggles with illegal drug crime activity. The main source of the drugs brought into these countries originates from South America and Southwest Asia. Germany’s issues with drug crimes are unique in that the country is the producer of specific chemicals used in the manufacturing of cocaine, thus increasing the flow of drug traffickers into the country.

Human trafficking and terrorism plague the country of Saudi Arabia. Human trafficking is the result of the immigration of people into Saudi Arabia seeking low-skilled employment, such as servants. The lack of acceptance of immigrants by the citizens of Germany has become a source of increased criminal activity. An increase in hate crimes has led to higher crime rates in the country due to the cultural difference between German citizens and those immigrating into the country.

Despite the “get tough” policies enacted in China, the country remains affected by a number of crimes. Banking crimes are one of the major sources for criminal activity. Many of the banks have been privatized, leading to an increase in economic crime due to corruption within the body of government. Many instances of violent crime in China are the result of their faltering economy. The influx of citizens from rural sectors of China into the cities seeking employment results in an increase of crime instances, due to the rural population overwhelming the inner city system of social control.

France has seen a spike in their crime rates. Illegal drug use has risen among the population. Harsher drugs, such as cocaine and heroin enter the country by way of Southwest Asia and South America. Much of this is due to Frances geographic location making the country a central hub utilized by drug traffickers. France also deals with the threat of terrorism, similar to other model nations.
