Although numerous people are clearly not as knowledgeable on the problem of human trafficking and how seriously terrible it is, if more people got educated about it and all the problems that come with it and helped to take the initiative to stop it, we can severely decrease the percentage of its existence and make it obsolete. Human Trafficking is more than just one type of problem it consists of multiple things ranging from, illegals, children, sex trafficking, slave labor, and even organs being taken from others to be given to others illegally. In Houston, this plague is growing to a very significant amount.

“Houston has the highest number of trafficking victims in the nation,” says Texas Assistant Attorney General, Krista Melton. Houston is a Main hub when it comes to Human trafficking being that it is a big city with both I-10 and the ports makes it a popular destination to allow entry of international human trafficking. Houston’s government developed team CAT is working on a strategic plan to get the word out on how we can end human trafficking in Houston. In their plan to stop human trafficking they developed multiple objectives to help smooth over the process and spread the word to make Houston an exemplary city to help lead the fight in human trafficking. In their first objective, they describe how they will help by implement training with multiple districts of the city from the courts and jail all the way to the health departments and airports. In their second objective, they choose to try to raise awareness in the public by holding events in Houston to talk about human trafficking and educate the public on the subject. The third objective is when they start taking charge and working with the police force setting up stakeouts and investigations to help and protect the victims of human trafficking. The fourth objective is to branch out in to public businesses and educate them in human trafficking. They final objective is to make the city of Houston an example and leader of how to get rid of human trafficking in the city.
