HumanismIt is about methodology of values and beliefs that is based on the idea that people are basically good and that problems can be solved using reason instead of religion. Humanism is a philosophy in a form of science and inspired by art, and motivated by compassion. Affirming the dignity of each human being, it supports the maximization of individual liberty, opportunity and responsibility. It advocates the extension of participatory democracy and the expansion of the open society, standing for human rights and social justice. Free of supernaturalism, it recognizes human beings as a part of nature and holds that values-be they religious, ethical, social, or political-have their source in human experience and culture. Humanism thus derives the goals of life from human need and interest rather than from theological or ideological abstractions, and asserts that humanity must take responsibility for its own destiny. Humans deserve respect. Every human should be treated with respect and allowed to have dignity. If all people act with respect for others, then people will live in peace and trust. People should all be able to decide how they want to live their lives. They should use reasoning to make decisions and solve problems.
