In “Huswifery” by a man Edward Taylor uses metaphysical conceit in the poem to describes himself as resembling a spinning wheel to reach god's glory. Children's uses their phone everyday. In a phone there are different part of tools to create the phone so that the children could use today to texts and call. Each part of the spinning wheel describes his dividing guidance to god. Edward taylor desires to be a piece of god's work, though being used as a tool to reach god's divine guidance. The process of making thread is an element that Taylor uses to express divine guidance. Taylor uses the metaphor for a spinning wheel as a process to god's work. The beginning of the first stanza of the poem he said “Make me, O Lord, thy spinning wheel complete” (1). Taylor is talking to god, to ask god if he can be one of god’s tools which is the thread of a spinning wheel. Taylor wants to put himself in gods hand so he could be god's glory. Another process that taylor uses is spool as a metaphor for his emotions and soul. In the middle of stanza one he said “make my soul thy holy spoole to be.” (4) A spool is a twist of fibers to make the yarn stronger. Taylor is referring to god's tools to make him stronger and respectful. Taylor is following god's word so he won't ever sin against god. Another tool Taylor uses is a loom.
