This quote informs us that no parent is perfect. Every parent can be good in many ways. The Novel I am Malala was written by Malala Yousafzai, the narrator, the protagonist, who suffered immensely due to the Taliban. Throughout the novel, Malala’s purpose was to fight for women's education in Pakistan. Malala would attend school and she thought everyone should have equal quality of education. Soon after, she began to publicly advertise for girls' education. While making society equal, she was shot by the Taliban, almost ending her life. Sometimes, parent’s roles can get difficult as one begins to grow. Malala and her father had the same mindset. In the novel, Ziauddin comments “He believed schooling should be available for all, rich and poor, boys and girls” (Yousafzai 41). Since he had the same perspective he was able to help Malala accomplish and advocate for the rights of women and girls. They knew that life in Pakistan wasn’t fair for women since they were treated differently. My father would say to me, “Any organization which works for peace, I will join. ' If you want to resolve a dispute or come out from conflict, the very first thing is to speak the truth. If you have a headache and tell the doctor you have a stomach ache, how can the doctor help? You must speak the truth. The truth will abolish fear” (Yousafzai 139). As a responsible parent, Ziauddin is trying to teach Malala to speak the truth.
