The novel I’m Not Scared by Niccolo Ammaniti, explores fear and how it motivates people into undertaking activities that they may or may not want to execute/complete. Fear motivates Felice to listen and obey Sergio’s expectations and obligations, to avoid getting on his atrocious side because Sergio is known for being a horrible person. Although the novel displays fear being an influence for the actions of the people, it also examines how compassion and single mindedness can inspire people. Michele’s strong compassion towards Filippo helps rescue and, consequently, save him due to the fact he was concerned about what was going to happen to him. Sergio single-mindedness along with his determination motivates him to achieve his goals with success
