You have goals set of all of us to become something important. To make a change to the world.
I hope to bring diversity to all who walk on the campus. My background has shaped me into the intelligent African American woman I am today. Without growing up in the “hood”, I may have not been able to find the best career that interested me. I also would not have been able over all the challenges thrown at me. Instead I remained determined and motivated so that I was able to achieve all of the goals set before me.
One day after I graduate, I hope to be the best nurse that this world has seen. My HBCU has one of the top nursing programs and I have the opportunity to learn from a majority black staff who all work really hard to make sure I succeed. Not only are the instructors caring and want us to be the best, but my peers are as
I found myself good at keeping our teammates at peace with each other, and compromising when we are at a disagreement. We all would agree as to what each person would do, and would come together to find solutions to problems. There were aspects that my teammates excelled in, and other aspects that I excelled in. These differences did not separate us, but instead allowed us to grow closer and work together better. Nobody would try to fight over what they did best, and our tasks would all be completed.
I plan to be able to stay active in my community and help others acknowledge differences and embrace diversity, not only in opinions but in race as well. Having diverse backgrounds is important so that questions can be answered. Bringing awareness to others is important or else they are left in the dark about problems and will live in a naive world until the problem is already integrated into society's mind. Volunteering in my community is also important, in my community, there is a food pantry that I volunteer at. The food pantry only accepts members of the community which allows me to encounter people I know.
I always enjoy helping those in need and I'm always looking to do more. I am always trying to help my community and wish there was more I could do. The last pillar is something that I feel is one of my best qualities. In school and in my athletics, I really like to help people and want to be a leader.
I would always rather work by myself other than working in a group with other people because
There is a common saying that says, “teamwork makes the dream work” and I think that is especially true. Most sports are played as a team, which allows you to depend on your others in order to perform well. On every team that I have been a part of there have been people I haven’t necessarily liked or got along with. Learning to deal with these types of people was a big challenge for me to overcome. At first, I tried to ignore or avoid those individuals that I didn’t get a long with, but that was impossible.
Rather than deride my teammates, I support and encourage them to improve as players of the
Life has its twists and turns, but my overall life goal is simple, help others. I want to make an impact on others life, even if it is a small change. For instance, being able to hold a pencil is the difference between a student being able to graduate from Kindergarten and not be able to continue on to first grade. Being a Pediatric occupational therapist will help me make an impact on children at a very young age. Even small changes can have a large impacts, which is why I want to be that change for others.
As a dreamer and queer woman of color, pursuing a career in STEM has been quite challenging. But I have never let anything get in the way of reaching my goals and dreams. I have swam against the current in order to be where I am today, where I have dreamt of being. I am currently a second year student at Trinity Washington University majoring in biochemistry and minoring in mathematics. I am a dedicated student and an analytical and skilled critical thinker who is eager to learn.
Some people dream to be a successful and famous public speaker. Others want to be a millionaire or a billionaire. Singers as well as actors wish to be successful in their career and become famous. Teachers may hope to succeed in imparting knowledge to their students. Many students simply would like to pass examinations or have good grades in school.
The FBLA(Future Business Leaders of America) club teaches us the importance of becoming a successful person in our near future. I am determined that I will achieve my life goals throughout my
I have always been very empathetic and coupling this characteristic with my business drive and skills, I hope to work for a company that tries to make the world a better, safer, and smarter
