The very first sentence of the chapter makes me believe that the setting is obviously in Oklahoma and a little while after the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1889. It makes me believe that because of the way that the narrator writes and him/her calling it “the red country and part of the gray country,” which is referencing the red, white, and gray sand often associated with the state. Later on in the first page, the narrator begins to describe a drought taking place. Perhaps the drought will last a long time and lead to the narrator and his/her family moving somewhere more viable. On the second page, the narrator describes “wheels” milling the ground, which leads me to believe that he/she lives
What I liked I call of the will was on chapters 1-5 because of all the constant action and excitement. 1 of my favorites is when Buck and Spitz fight to the death. Also when Buck get legs of steel and thick pelt. There was not really anything I didn’t like exWcept for when buck was abused. With all of it combined I loved call of the wild.
The Call of the wild was a great book,It showed great detail and wording. It was a very emotional book with john and manuel and buck and the other dogs. When spitz and him were fighting the author showed great detail. It was like we were pulled into the scene of the fight. It a great book to read inwould requemend this for younnger childern who like animals orgfight for animals scaces.
This shows that life in that time period was hard: hard work, no law enforcement, and shootings. Basically whoever had the most money in the settlement could do as they pleased. Money meant power and whoever had the money had the power. That led to problems when poor farmers were threatened by wealthy cattle drivers which were shown in the movie. Ryker, the wealthy cattle driver, abused his status and money to intimidate and wreak havoc upon the homesteaders until they would eventually pack up and leave.

Call of the Wild is a book about a sled pulling dog named Buck, Buck wasn’t always pulling sleds though. He used to be a domesticated dog living under the roof of a rich Judge, but all of that changed when he was captured and sold to two men who were crossing the Yukon territory. Through many courses of events, Buck became wild, hence the name of the book. This book takes place in the Yukon territory which was freezing and conditions were very rough, by the end of the story Buck had changed because of the problems he faced.
Call of the Wild presented Buck’s static nature when he resorted to his wild and king-like attitude. Also, Call of the Wild showed poor responsibility. Countless times throughout the book Buck had to be put in his place when he opposed the leadership of Perrault or Francois. Intruder in the dust, on the other hand, shows civil responsibility. Lucas fished Chick from his doom in the frozen creek, and Chick showed responsibility when he proved Lucas free from charge.
The setting is that of classic cowboy novels. Homesteading, cattle driving, rural America in the state of Wisconsin. The land of Stetson hats and horses, revolvers and farms. This setting definitely enhanced the plot because it made clear the era that the story was taking place.
I disliked the book because is was too gory. It told us every little thing that had happened to the dog and why they were killed with an axe or a colt revolver. The book also had that the dogs were being beaten. The book also didn’t have a good story it was just buck pulling a sled for like 800 miles which I think cruel to do to an animal. It also had the death of every dog that buck had to pull the sled with.

The narrator is as if he 's in Bucks ' head throughout most of the story. It helps the readers understand how Buck feels and why he acts the way he does. The tone of the story is very reflective. Throughout the plot, London stops to show what Buck is thinking, the things he has learned, how he has changed, and what that lifestyle means to Buck. The story takes place in the Southland and Northland.
In the novel of the Call of the Wild, Buck tried to adapt to his new and difficult life. He was forced to help the men find gold; he experienced a big transformation in him. At the end, he transformed into a new and different dog. Buck went through physical, mental and environmental changes. In my essay, I talked about how Buck was like at the beginning, what he changed into, and how he was forced to adapt his new environment, and underwent these changes.
