The American’s who do not care would be considered “white privileged,” and the reason they do not care is because it doesn’t directly affect them. They never had to experience what most African Americans have to deal with on a daily basis. Los Angeles experienced a very similar situation to Ferguson. When four Los Angeles police officers that had been videotaped beating an unarmed African-American driver were acquitted of any offense in the arrest, anger and protest swiftly turned to violence, as “rioters in south-central Los Angeles blocked freeway traffic and beat motorists, wrecked and looted numerous downtown stores and buildings, and set more than 100 fires” (This Day in History, April). The video of Rodney King’s being beaten was constantly broadcasted on television, fueling anger over what was interpreted as a pattern of hostility and abuse by the Los Angeles police toward Africa-Americans and Hispanics. Peaceful protests, civil disobedience, and demonstrations are common ways to express non acceptance of something that has been done or a law that is not acceptable. However, riots are unlawful and violent acts that do not accomplish anything positive.
With this in mind, I could connect with two people who also thought about how evil people can be. William Golding and Elie Wiesel wrote books that magnify the circumstances under which people act evil. In President Obamas State of the Union Address, he used rhetorical devices to convey his intentions to advance the education system such as logos, utopia, and pathos. President Obama used logical appeal to reference current events along with statistics. He claims the “[l]atino dropout rate has been cut in half over the past 10 years,” and this shows how much the graduation rate has increased in a specific time (Obama).

Nevertheless, people today can learn that being prejudiced against one another will ultimately result in destruction to both sides. For instance, in 2013, the movement “Black Lives Matter” began as a fight for equality and ending police brutality. It helped inspire the fight against prejudices, especially after George Zimmerman’s trial in 2012 when he was found not guilty of killing 17 year old Trayvon Martin.

Many have witnessed innocent young black lives being taken in the blink of an eye by the ones that are meant to serve and protect. Time after time minorities have fallen victim to a justice system that continues to fail them. This has always been an issue however, in 2012 when 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was gunned down by a neighbor because of false pretenses and stereotypical judgement sparked an old flame. Trayvon’s death gave both birth and purpose to the creation of #BlackLivesMatter.
Through out history evil has been best depicted as the absence of goodness and goodness as the absence of evil. With goodness being comprehended as the direct opposite of evil. It is under speculation that maybe there can 't exist only one general meaning of good vs. evil. I trust this, in light of the fact that any one individual 's perception of good or evil is without a doubt directed by one 's social comprehension of certain qualities and ethics within their culture, i.e. the power of social conformity (Muncaster-Social Psychology Lecture, 2016). Yes, there can be cases of evil that is seen as malevolent all over the world but due to the ethnocentric component of the perception of cultural morals and values, one is unable to categorize another individual as evil or good based upon their own cultural understanding of this notion.
Firstly, man is born evil because society shows him to be evil. An example of this is how parents must raise their child to be good. A parent never has to raise their child to do bad things. A young child might draw on the wall and believe that it is art, however the parent will stop the child and tell them that drawing on the wall is a bad thing to do.

Given the disproportionate impact state violence has on Black lives, we understand that when Black people in this country get free, the benefits will be wide-reaching and transformative for society as a whole. When we are able to end the hyper-criminalisation of Black people and end the poverty, control and surveillance of Black people, every single person in this world has a better shot at getting and staying free. When Black people get free, everybody gets free.” (The Conversation,2017).
People of virtue go out of their way to put others first and think about how they can help others and the world around them. Conversely, evil is understood to be morally repugnant behavior or acts which intentionally cause harm to others. Someone who is bad only thinks about themselves and how they can use others to their own benefit. I think that good and evil is inherent in all of us, as humans, and has been within us since the beginning of our existence.
Evil is a simple word that we learn at a young age and that we understand is bad. However, our youth and innocence prevents us from knowing the weight the word holds. As our understanding of evil develops, we begin to see evil all around us. Although we hold common societal definitions of evil, each person is bound to view evil slightly different from others. Someone might consider alcoholism evil, while others consider it normal: someone might believe racism is evil, while others believe it is natural.
