Anita Shaw was in the middle of her second tour in Iraq as a U.S. Army sergeant on March 28, 2008, when she received a phone call that no parent should ever have to hear. Her son, Jamiel Shaw, had been gunned down after getting off at his bus stop upon completion of his school day. About 40% of all homicides committed in the state of Florida and 70% of all drug deals big and small involve illegal aliens (Federal Prison Bureau). Illegal aliens also commit more than 61% of all federal crimes in the U.S., and almost 75% of all federal drug related sentences in 2014 (Fox News). Please note that illegal aliens also only make up 3.5% of the whole country, which makes these numbers even more appalling. It has been proven by fact after fact, stat after stat, that these aliens provide huge risks to the security of our homeland where our children sleep. But to go a step even further, where they learn and spend most of their time when they are awake. A child’s mind is still developing at the ages when they go to school. These years are the most crucial in how a child’s future is shaped, and how they look at the world. This means that they are also very vulnerable though. Exposure to this sort of beyond unruly behavior and criminal activity at this early age could lead to children growing up believing that that is fine and normal.
