Why Illegal Immigration Is an Intergovernmental Mess and Will Remain So

Illegal immigration issues in the United States
I strongly believe the state and local governments have become more active in regulating illegal immigrant during the recent years, because of the growing population and the need for more regulations in regards to the distribution of funds to agencies providing services to illegal immigrants such as border patrol, social services and medical care.
We are getting closer to voting on a new President and I think the motivating factor for taking action regarding immigration issue for the federal government, politicians running for office in particular, is driven by the need to get votes. Whose responsibility is it to address this issue? I believe it is up to the federal government to pass a bill that is beneficial to all parties. There are already procedures to help any immigrant enter the US legally, maybe those just need to be revised and also give people who are already here the opportunity to naturalize. They would then pay taxes to the full extent of the law. They could have the option to work where ever they are qualified, including agriculture which is obviously needed. Immigrants are here and they are here for a reason. They contribute to the economy, do the jobs that I know I wouldn’t want to do and want to be here legally. If the federal government passed a bill that allowed them to be here legally I think everyone would win. The government would collect taxes, medicare, social security. The states would have workers to produce their products, just one example. Immigrants would benefit from not being here illegally, pay taxes, have insurance, medical and auto and be able to contribute more to
