Many times books incorporate a symbol that represents something beyond its literal meaning. The book contains a very important symbol that leads to the plot of the book. Throughout the book, we are shown that because Liza saw the incident while video chatting with Molly she calls the cops, which leads to the plot of the story. The book “Forget You Know Me” includes the important symbol of a computer to reveal Daniel’s plan in hopes of fixing his marriage.

This quote shows how after Liza witnesses Daniel’s unknown plan she calls the cops. She feels relief being told that it was an intruder that night by an officer. “No one other than Molly was supposed to see me” (Pg 304). This quote is Daniel’s confession. This explains how that night of the video chat only Molly was supposed to see him. He only wanted to be seen as a hero by Molly to fix his relationship.
