Immigrant Parent's Sacrifices

Our parents have always looked out for us. I think the one thing that most people don't understand is the amount of sacrifices are parents have made for us. Immigrant parents leave their home to a place they don't the language of and try to make it their home. They have two university degrees that mean nothing, yet they are ready to work labour jobs .So many kids are lacking to show respect to their parents for all they have done for us.

I was watching TV with my older brother bored flipping through channels as we came across a news channel that was reporting about a shooting in Surrey. We looked at the mug shots and my brother recognized that it was one of his high school friends. We were both shocked that after a couple of years that he was suspected to be responsible for a shooting. My parents also felt so disappointed as they knew the parents of the boy. The boys parents had struggled their entire lives to create a good life for him, yet he chose to forget all that and get influenced by his peers. …show more content…

I think this is really disappointing to not only the Indians,but to the entire community that all these young people are downward spiralling.

Most immigrants come with a hope to Canada for a better quality of life, and to help give their kids the experiences and happiness they didn't get to experience. Its sad to say that so many kids are forgetting the sacrifices their parents made for them, and finding an easier way to make
