The future of America has always been in the hands of the children born or brought into this country. The idea of an American Dream has been planted into the brains of the youth since the day that they are born. America has always been known as the land of opportunity, but how can America offer opportunities to children of immigrants and child immigrants when the laws created for immigration only affects them in a negative way? While immigration remains a thorny issue in America, the negative effect the current laws related to immigration have on child immigrants and the children of immigrants today continues to grow; meanwhile efforts are being made to address this issue constructively. Despite popular belief even people who have green cards can be deported for minor infractions of the law. Our broken policy is tearing up families” (UUA). Due to the broken policies that involve immigrants, the kids of thousands of immigrants are forced to grow up in broken homes. According to the author (unknown) of the article in Families for Freedom ,“more than 100,000 non-citizen parents are deported and torn away from their families [every year]” many of which kids end up living alone or forced into foster care (Families for Freedom). With such actions being taken it creates unnecessary fear in the lives of children; they fear the idea of ending up alone in this country.It has been seen in many ways before, most of the time someone reacts negatively to something it is because they react out of fear.
