In May 25, 1787, a convention was called in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to express the purpose of revising the Articles of Confederation. However, the intention from many delegates was to draft a new constitution; create a new government rather than fix the existing one. Rhode Island was the only one of the 13 original states to refuse to send delegates to the Constitutional Convention. At the Convention, the first issues they had to address was the representation in Congress.
During the Constitutional Convention, in the summer of 1787, several divisions arose among the delegates. There were differences between the northern vs. southern states, merchants vs. farmers, free vs. slave states, large vs. small states, and east vs. west. However, the main division of the Constitutional Convention was the Virginia Plan vs. the New Jersey Plan, essentially the large states vs. small states. The primary objective of the meeting was to somehow find a balance of power without leaving any one group or person with absolute control.

The official purpose of the convention was to amend the articles of Confederation/ how the country was going to be governed. Although the convention had been called for revising the Articles of Confederation, two delegates (James Madison and Alexander Hamilton) wanted to make a totally new government. Seventy delegates from each original state were supposed to come to the Constitutional Convention, but only 55 out of the 70 arrived. The first two months of debating were only about the 15 points of the “Virginia Plan” that James Madison thought of to replace the Articles of Confederation.
Constitutional Convention In 1787, Washington was persuaded to attend the Constitutional Convention and was popularly chosen as president. The Convention met in Philadelphia from May 14 to September 17. Delegates gathered to correct the various problems that had come up.
America has been shaped in many different ways, but one of the most important is the way the country is governed. Once the Revolutionary War was over, the United States of America needed to figure out a new way to govern their country because when the states had more power than the national government, the country was weak. The Framers of the United States Constitution ultimately decided to give more power to the Federal Government rather than the state government because the Articles of Confederation were weak, the Constitution was strong, and the Constitution was more likely to succeed than the Articles. The Articles of Confederation were used to govern America during the Revolutionary War.
The United States Constitution is a vital part of the country’s government and society. The Constitution was written in June of 1788, and it would become the center of a country. The Constitution insures the rights of all Americans, from birth to death. It also insures a strict set of rules-which can ensure justice is perused, and laws are made. The Constitution wasn’t always the center of the United States government however.
By the way, did anyone ever tell you that the Constitution is unconstitutional? Yep, the whole thing. Or at least its ratification was illegal. This is not a joke, except to the degree that it is.

I believe that education should be a right in America and that every single child here should have the equal opportunity to a quality education, without any burdening costs to their families. The 14th Amendment is supposed to ensure that this a reality in America, as it states that, “no living child in that state* [*a state that establishes a public school system] may be denied equal access to schooling”. This Amendment was ratified in 1868, and yet the fight for equal education continues to be a struggle for minorities to this day. One of the, if not the, most famous public fights against this injustice was the case Brown v. Board of Education in Topeka, Kansas.
What problems would a Federalist have had with the articles of confederation and constitutional convention? A federalist (someone who believes in coexisting and strong federal and state governments) (Morone and Kersh 59) wouldn’t have liked the articles. This is mostly due to its structure (Morone and Kersh 53). Mainly, states had more influence than the federal government ("Independence and the Articles of Confederation."). In one case, because of one state, a tax couldn’t be raised (Morone and Kersh 54).
In many countries living in extremely poor conditions, not only is basic health an issue but also the lack of education. Although it is a necessity, “more than 72 million children of primary education age are not in school and 759 million adults are illiterate” (Rights to Education 1). The deprivation of education should be taken serious if a change is wanted. People need to become aware of how important education is and the benefit that it has.
High school seniors are faced with a wide variety of decisions as they approach graduation. They must decide whether or not they are going to attend college, begin working, or do something else. If they do decide to attend college, they also must decide whether to pursue a liberal arts education or a vocational one. A liberal arts education primarily includes a collection of different classes and topics students can choose to take and study. A vocational route will mainly educate students on their specific intended career.
Compulsory Education Most, if not all of us, are aware of the fact we are required to go to school-the reason behind this are the controversial compulsory education laws. There have many many different forms of compulsory education in past times. In the Roman societies it was expected of young people to study under someone who had an education. Whenever attending school became mandatory in the United States there was a lot of controversy. On one hand, you had people who loved the idea of their kids having to go to school for a set number of years and the state providing it.
Education is a huge issue that not only affects kids and their parents, but their community as well. Schools teach young kids to become the next generation of engineers, technicians, and political leaders, working towards creating a better future for their country and their community. Teachers have the unique job of creating the future leaders of the world, and preparing them for both college and life beyond, by putting a special push towards math and science, the so-called “foundation” of our society. The hard truth is, no one can be anything they want to be. Some people are simply not cut out to be engineers, doctors, or psychologists.
