Value: Importance of Human Relationships Principal: Social Workers recognize the central importance of human relationships. After reading this ethical principal, I understood that every relationship between human beings is important because they all bring change. Therefore, social workers strengthen relationships to promote a purpose for individuals. Also, this principal called my attention because I do believe that human relationships are important since they teach us how to socialize. Subsection A caught my attention because social workers with more authority know the NASW Code of Ethics like the back of their hand, therefore know that engaging in a sexual relationship with a colleague is unethical. Also, that sexual relationship can create bias in the workplace since the social worker with authority will allow greater preference and other opportunities to get high status in the workplace with the person they are having a sexual relationship with. Eventually, the sexual relationship will create drama in the workplace. Moreover, having a sexual relationship or a romantic relationship with a colleague can be prevented, but when love hits the heart it is difficult to fight the brain. Therefore, this principle is in conflict with my values because I do value love, but I do not know if I am willing to be unethical for love or a sexual relationship. 4.
