Impression management is the way you present yourself when you are around others, and it helps you develop social relationships. When I go on a job interview I always dress to impress and keep a positive attitude. Smiling is mostly Important when you meet a person for the first time. You will always be remembered by the first impression. Growing up my father was always against getting piercings and tattoos. I did not know why until I got older. I went on job interviews in the past and the employers, asked did I have any tattoos or piercings? Maybe my father had a point. Previously I worked at a call center and spoke to an upset customer regarding a high bill. The customer was using profanity, and yelling. My manger was nowhere to be found. I had to diffuse the situation by speaking calmly to the customer and placing them on a brief hold. As I reviewed the account, I discovered an error on my companies end. I notated the account and spoke back to the customer and apologized for their inconvenience. I credited the account and the customer was very pleased with the service they received. I handled the situation well, and the customer gave me a great review on a survey. My mother always taught me that a soft answer turns away anger, and wrath. This theory helped me handle difficult problems and maintain an optimistic approach. The people you hang around influences you in a negative or positive way. If you hang around people that steals you will think it is okay. Our parents can either help us or hurt us. We depend on them for everything and without proper guidance we will look for it in other places. I watched my classmates grow up and start hanging with the wrong crowd, and it caused them their freedom. Most of them were from broken homes and parents were previously incarcerated.
