My undergraduate years at the National Institute of Technology, Warangal have been a stimulating journey that has shown me the way forward in my life. These undergraduate years have introduced to me the joy of learning and the satisfaction of research and innovation. The primary reason that I want to pursue a career in research is for its sheer joy – the joy of exploration through involvement and experience. I am a highly motivated & work-oriented student & have always been inquisitive in my approach as to ’how’ and ‘why’ things happen. I believe that “a person is what he does”, and in line with this philosophy I am always on the lookout for challenging and creative work. I have participated in career guidance programmes, environmental awareness programs, blood donation camps among others. These have taught me effective time-managerial, team work, interpersonal communication skills. Of course, my plans following completion of my current studies are to move directly into graduate work toward my master 's in science. After I earn my master 's degree, I intend to start work on my Ph.D in Neuroscience. In my studies toward a postdoctoral degree, I hope to examine more closely the relationship between genetic and environmental factors responsible for causing neurological diseases. Fifteen years down the line, I dream of establishing my own laboratory researching on biomarkers of neurological disorders. The primary reason that I want to pursue a career in research is for its sheer joy – the joy of exploration through involvement and experience. It is in R & D that I believe I can make the greatest contribution, utilizing my theoretical background and creativity as a scientist. Apart from gaining some valuable research experience, I would also enhance my knowledge in my areas of interest and get a lot of exposure at a world class laboratory by working on a good project.
