Bangladesh is an agriculture-based country where better parts of its total people are directly or indirectly connected wide range of agricultural activities. Rainfall is the most important natural catalyst that determines the agricultural production in Bangladesh. The fertility of farmland as well as the stability of land resources depends heavily upon the rainfall. The variability of rainfall and the extreme high or low precipitations are very important for the agricultural production as well as the economical growth of the country. It is well known that the rainfall is changing globally; and the regional scales due to global warming .The climate in earth primarily influenced by monsoon and also partly by pre-monsoon and post-monsoon and winter circulations. Bangladesh is considered to be one of the most vulnerable country for change of climate rapidly and shortage or heavy rainfall. This is due to its unique geographic location, dominance of floods and rising of sea level. Moreover, the monsoon season is characterized by the occurrence of severe floods due to heavy rainfall which causes extensive damage to crops, livestock and properties associated with loss of valuable lives. …show more content…
It can be said that the mean rainfall shifts towards pre-monsoon season from monsoon. More need based analysis can be carried out based on the outcomes of this study to investigate rainfall pattern in drought prone areas for mitigation of drought or crop areas for adjustment of crop period. The analytical results will help the planners and policy makers to counter productive the adverse effect of environmental parameter (rainfall) in different sectors like agriculture, drought mitigation, flood control etc. However, the above studies are not up-to-date and are subject to further confirmation through more detail
