Pollution is a massive issue nowadays. Kiss and Shelton (1997) claimed that the most acceptable definition for pollution is the misuse of energy or materials to the earth that affecting the environment and nature and put human being’s life in a risk of danger and affecting the life of nature and ecosystem. There are three types of pollutions which are soil pollution, water pollution and air pollution. (Refer to Figure 1 in Appendix 1)
First type of pollution is soil pollution which also known as contamination of soil. According to Mishra (2008), soil pollution is any changes of soil either physical or chemical which causes its use to alter or renders and does not give any advantages to use without treatment. Soil is important to human being because it have many advantages in agriculture, industrial site, recreation, housing and food production. Soil cannot be replaced with other thing which makes it precious to any country and it takes time to produce new soil.
The presence of man-made wastes are the major factor that leads to soil pollution. Chemicals such as pesticides and fertilizers are popular in agricultural industry due to higher demand for the food grain production. The use of pesticides and fertilizers which is to remove insect from the plant or crop are popular among farmer. Pesticides and fertilizers are man-made chemical which cannot be broken down by nature. As a result, the chemical seeps through the ground surface and mix with the ground water and decrease
