Study Habits What is studying? Studying means to learn. It 's the application of the mind to the acquisition of knowledge, as by reading, investigation, or reflection. You may be wondering, however, why is studying important? Studying is crucial for success in school. It 's useful for getting good grades and for learning. It refreshes the lecture in class and helps you memorize or get the basic idea of the topic. In Respicius Rwehumbiza 's book "Understanding Examination Techniques and Effective Study Strategies", he asserted that, because students lack study skills and/or techniques, they simply fail in examinations. So studying is important, right? Why make a report on it? Our purpose of this study is to find out how much effort do first year Silliman students put on studying. We would also like to find out our fellow student 's preferences when it comes to studying and how effective it really is. We hope that from the information we have gathered, we can make a good description of how important studying is and what it means to college freshmen like us. First things first, how often do we study? Our hypothesis was that we thought people did not study very much. It is not very surprising we thought this way. People here are very relaxed when it comes deadlines and we often find that people procrastinate or even sometimes not care. However, this was just our opinion. According to our results, 29 of the 50 people we surveyed said that they do study often. This is 58%,
