Infants can differentiate sounds and can distinguish their parent’s voices.

H’s family, her husband is the primary wage earner at this time. She will not have to go to work after birth. Her primary job is being the caregiver for the children so they will not have to go to daycare. While the birth of the new baby is a very joyous occasion, we cannot overlook the fact that financial expenses have increased. It will be very important to be sure the family has information on WIC programs in the area. WIC provides nutritious foods for moms and also formula for bottle fed babies (Lowdermilk, p.359, 2015). WIC also provides nutritional assessments for the mom and baby. A.H is currently using WIC and has updated them on her new child. A.H lives with her husband and 18-month old son in an apartment in a safe neighborhood. A.H has a car seat, lights, heat and the essentials to keep the baby warm. But, A.H does not have a crib for the baby to sleep in. She would need a referral for social services. There is a program called “Cribs for kids”, this program is for individuals that lives in the city of Milwaukee that provides families with Pack’ n Plays to help reduce the rate of sudden infant death syndrome and unsafe sleep. These pack’ n plays are available to families who are financially unable to purchase a crib for their baby. These families also have to be referred by a community professional such as social worker or nurse (Crib for kids, 2015). To ensure that we are promoting wellness in the area of spirituality, we must be sure when possible to accommodate religious rituals and practices. Most women gain comfort in knowing there is respect for their spirituality. The patient did not request a referral to a chaplain or priest. The mom identifies as a Muslim and does not goes to church often. Having a baby is a joyous experience but it can also cause some stress. Every stressful event in your life should be seen and turned into a Dua ( Supplication). This event should be another reason to submit to Allah ( Muslim God) ( Lowdermilk, p.246, 2013). God listens and already knows what is in your heart, but He wants you to talk and pray to him about whatever is on your mind. You should also rest and meditate when you feel stress or not intact with spirituality. One way to meditate is to listen to music. Also yoga can be a way to meditate, this practice helps bring a sense of presence in your life. Journaling each morning can help you release some of the things that are on your mind. Sometimes it is best if you have a prayer box about church/congregation to place these notes on those boxes, or speak to someone at the prayer
