When choosing a service location the goal is to maximize revenue rather than minimize costs as with manufacturing/production locations. Our group also analysed the 8 major determinants of volume and revenue for a service firm and applied them to the Brandon area and specifically the Corral Centre: 1. Purchasing power of the customer - drawing area: According to Stats Canada 2016 the population of Brandon was roughly 49,000 people. Brandon is showing strong growth increasing 6.1% since 2011.Brandon is also utilized as a hub for goods and services by many peripheral towns and communities in Westman. This 19-29 year old age bracket accounts for 20% of all people over 15 years old. Statistical analysis suggests that 19-29 year olds are more inclined to eat at fast food restaurants on a regular basis when compared to all other age groups. We just want to point out that this doesn’t discount all others outside of the 19-29 year old age group because people who fall within other groups also enjoy fast food BUT according to statistics not as often as the 19-29 year olds. 5. Uniqueness of firm’s and competitors location: The Corral Centre offers huge variety in goods and services and is unique in the sense that it is the only shopping centre like it in Brandon. The Shoppers Mall also offers a unique location given it’s the only shopping mall in Brandon but our competitors with 5 Guys have already capitalized on this location. 6. Physical qualities of facilities and neighbouring businesses: The Corral Centre is one of Brandon’s newest developments and thus it is in new condition, modern and very visually appealing as well as it’s easily accessible. It’s located on one of the busiest streets in Brandon and offers close access to the #1 highway which can draw upon out of towners or travelers.
