1) In your research, would you be more likely to take an inductive or deductive approach to analysis? Why?
Recently, my group made the decision to take the empirical literature review route for our research study this semester. Our research is deriving from the topic of: What factors make Title I teachers’ workloads larger than non-Title I teachers’ workload. Based off our subjects and the information we are looking for, I believe that we are going to take the inductive approach to analysis. As stated in our readings, the goal of inductive analysis is to end up developing a generalized propositions, hypotheses, or themes from data. To better communicate “the story” or information from our research to our readers, we need to collect data first to give detail to develop claims for our research. We have to start from bottom or end of our research and work our way back up in order to have our conclusion.

Explain.
Out of the three analysis methods covered this week, I believe I would use thematic analysis method. The thematic analysis method’s goal is primarily a descriptive strategy that facilitates the search pattern of experience within a qualitative data set. For my group’s research, we want to know the data of the experience of title I teacher’s workloads and non- title I teachers’ workload. Gathering articles within the same or relative area of content will allow us to see how they relate to each other through the theme pattern of commonality.
3) For those of you not working on qualitative research or literature review projects, which of the three analysis methods covered this week was the most interesting to you?
