Income and Social Status- Refers to health status increasing or decreasing due to high or low income. High income leads to a stable home to live in, a safe environment, higher level education and ability to purchase healthy food. Living in a low income family could lead to stress and constant worry; which could potentially affect other aspects of an individual's life.
Social Support Networks- Social Support Networks refers to the support an individual will receive from close friends, family and the community. Social Support Networks create a trusting environment for individuals to share their thoughts, solve difficult problems and deal with adversity (Public Health Agency of Canada, 2013, para. 3). Having a Social Support Network can also influence behaviour; which can lead to making healthier choices (Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada, n.d., para. 5)

Soil, food, air and water are all factors that contribute to an individual's physical environment. Depending on whether the factor is positive or negative; it can create many adverse health outcomes. While physical environment interrelates with the outside environment, it can also include an individual’s home and everyday activities; clean air and water quality, safe transportation all affect the outcome of an individual's health.
