My second nominee is; Nellie Mcclung. "She was spirited, she was amazing, she was effective," afew commonly used words to describe Nellie McClung. She was a female activist, One of Nellie 's best influences was her mom. Her family 's influence was not a doubt the reason she became an activist. Her mom thought that every child had the right to an education, and her hole family encouraged her to learn all she could.
Jackie robinson showed people to go for what you love even if others do not think you can do it and he shows that even if it gets hard to not give up. He went from the first African-American to play baseball to the first baseball player to break the color barrier, i know this because the text states, “The first baseball player to break the color barrier in 60 years, he paved the way for many future African-American and minority athletes.” ( Jessica McBirney , 2017 ) . This shows that because he did not give up he made it this far. Harriet Tubman helped many people by escaping the camp but going back for the other slaves.
Leadership, a word associated with bold and recorded act of an individual that made a lasting impact in some shape or form. In times such as trial and new beginning, great leaders emerge which are sometime immortalized by the passing time due to their legacy; however, not all who lead are necessarily bold and can lost in time and the ideology of the day. This is the case of Abigail Adam. Abigail Adam is woman hailed as a hero of feminism due to her personal writing to her famous husband, John Adams. Yet, when came to her actual work as a mother and the First Lady, she isn’t quite hailed as the ideal feminists.
The actions and words of Andrew Johnson were very contradictory. The cartoon states: "Treason is a crime and must be made odious, and traitors must be punished". He told the people of a reconstruction plan that was supposed to punish the confederate rebels. Johnson did the opposite by ordering many pardons The Northern Republicans in Congress were ostracized because he continually vetoed their attempts at reconstruction.
In my eyes a leader has to be someone that you can look up to and know that they help the world. I chose Jackie Robinson to be my leader because he changed something that I love with a passion. Baseball would not be where baseball it is, without the guts and the courage this one individual had, because he loved the sport that much. Jackie Robinson was a better man, than he was a baseball player. Jackie displayed courage and pride.
Although some people might argue that Shirley Chisholm does not demonstrate leadership qualities, a closer examination proves that the former congresswoman was a strong leader because of her independence, perseverance, and willingness to take risks. Shirley Chisholm is a great leader because she blazed a trail by being the first African American Congresswoman. For example, “Chisholm indulged her maverick nature in a spectacular gesture. She became the first black woman to run for president” (Morin pg1).This proves that she was the first black individual in her field to run for president so this makes her a trailblazer because all leaders should possess this for the reason that no leader can lead from behind.
Salva, in the book it started that led about 1500 boys (80). Another way he showed leadership is he started the water for Sudan program. He was drilling many wells for his own people this year he decided to drill for Nuer (115). Salva had leadership because he made the idea to cross the river. Three shots ran out, Salva knew that both would were him to survive and reach the refugee camp in Kenya safely (63).
Lyndon Baines Johnson was the thirty-sixth American president. What is also important, he was born in Stonewall, Texas. One of the most controversial persons of the Contemporary History, L.B. Johnson undoubtedly had a great effect on the life of the country in general and on the life of the state. It is hard to trace the influence of a person of such scale on the single State, but it makes the task more interesting.

Frankie Huether Ms. Crain English 9 7 March 2024 Hiding From Death Death is one thing no one can avoid. In the short story “The Masque of the Red Death,” by Edgar Allan Poe, this idea is written into a story based on the Plague. The wealthy friends of Prince Prospero throw a party in his heavily protected castle to escape the Red Death and mock it while the poor are stuck with it. The party is held in a hall filled with seven rooms, each decorated in a color.
Some may still argue that Nelson Mandela would be the best ambassador, because he is a leader and mentally strong. However, Eleanor Roosevelt is twice the leader than Mandela was, because she is also experienced, determined, and passionate on top of that. Mandela did need to be mentally strong to reach his goals, since he was an oppressed minority- but as a woman in politics, Eleanor was all that, too. Mandela’s mental strength only pushed him along, but Eleanor’s helped her and all those around her. Both influenced their countries for years to come, but Eleanor’s reach was far wider.
Cyanobacteria or cyanophyta is commonly known as blue-green algae which is a type of bacteria. The colour pigment they have is from phycocyanin along with chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is in all green plants, algae and also cyanobacteria which helps them absorb light to create energy to be able to perform photosynthesis. Cyanobacteria grows at the ocean shore or pools and ponds at their edges although they can be found in soil, water and salt water. Cyanobacteria live in sheets like films, but thin enough so the cells can be able to get water and sunlight.
