How does Tim Burton use ranges of techniques to explore important ideas?
In Edward scissorhands, Tim Burton uses techniques to explore one huge theme of human complexities. This film was created on March 21, 1991. Within the theme of human complexities, the film addresses individuality and helplessness.
Individuality is explored through Edward’s uniqueness. His scissorhands create a mysterious look that separates himself apart from the pastel community where nothing’s unique or “different”.

The similarity causes a sense of life routine. As Edward’s scissor skills reveal, the town starts to accept uniqueness. Which develops connections of his individuality and their own. This transforms the boring neighbourhood into a unique and fun place.
In this scene, Edward’s angel ice sculptures created “snow” as Kim imagened, even though it was ice shavings. Near the film’s end, Kim recounts Edward’s story to her granddaughter. As Kim recalls “Before he came down here, it never snowed and afterwards it did and if you went up there now, I don't think it will be snowing. Sometimes you can still catch me dancing in it.” At the end of this line Kim’s memories connect to Edward creating ice sculptures.
