We all know them for the pyramid but that 's not all that they achieved.
The system of irrigation allowed the farmers to use the uncontrollable floodwater to their advantage. The farmers used the water to water their crops whenever they needed it. Some aspects of civilization include technology, writing/language, specialized jobs, government, etc. These decisions were made based on the climate and biome the civilization was located in. These things needed to be taken into account because certain aspects of civilization were not suitable for every civilization.

One of the most significant Greek cultural ideals seen in The Odyssey would be xenia, the concept of hospitality.

Ancient Egypt was the most advance civilization of antiquity. They had fairly advance Medicine, Architecture, Religion, and were also wise in philosophy. Greek culture learned a lot from Egypt, and they constantly referred to them and sought to find their ancestors in Egypt. The Nile was a fundamental element for the flourishing of the civilization of ancient Egypt, most of the population of cities were in the Nile valley and the Delta. The Nile was vital to Egyptian culture from the stone age.
The Eastern and Western civilizations varied on levels of advancement even within their own categories. The Eastern civilizations had a rather advanced civilization within it which was the Indus River Valley civilization, and the Western civilizations had an advanced civilization within it which was the Egyptians. It seems that the ancient eastern civilizations were the most advanced of the two. The Indus River Valley civilization seems to be the most advanced.
Well archaeology shows us civilizations in the past. It gives us an idea of what it was like before, because we can find out what were the jobs of men and women.
