Social Effects of the Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution began in the 1700’s in England but started slowly. The revolution was a chain reaction. As different gadgets were created, more and more machines were invented to help move things along. During the late 1700’s, industrialization began to spread throughout the world. Most nations were industrialized by the First World War. The Industrial Revolution changed the routes by how the world created its products. It was the era when the utilization of force driven machines was produced. It additionally changed our social orders from a principally farming society to one in which industry and assembling was in control. This effect affected individuals' lives.

People left their farmlands and fled to the cities, which weren’t prepared for such large growth in population. This growth caused living conditions to deteriorate. Houses were quickly built, but built cheap. There were little building regulations at the time, and those made were ignored frequently. Many homes were built back-to-back, connected in all parts but the entrance. There was no plumbing yet so waste was thrown into the courtyards in front of the houses. There was very little sanitation or hygiene. The industrial revolution suddenly changes the political importance, taxable value and yields, infrastructure investment needs, and regional prominence of mines, deep sea ports, canals, railroads, telecommunications lines, accessible hardwood forests for logging, sawmills, quarries, brickworks, shipyards, food processing factories and slaughterhouses, farming that produces large surpluses beyond feeding the farmer's family, city and town housing construction of all types, and the value of land beyond it's potential as pasture or farm fields. Lots of new taxes, currency value against foreign currencies becomes a major issue, lots of real estate law develops, long term debt (municipal bonds) becomes common so the government's access to debt becomes even more critical, and there are endless new issues to build a political career on. In both cases, new logistics pipelines were created to service the factories. Roads, canals, rivers, and railroads were created to bring raw materials to factories and farmed foods to the cities, and to distribute finished goods from factory to
