Companies did not care if their employees got hurt or injured in any way, shape, or form. The workers were working for many hours a day with very little pay. Children were working instead of going to school. If a worker died, the company would just replace them with someone new. The workers that had it the worst were immigrant women and children.
The economic growth during the Gilded Age affected the United States in both negative and positive ways. As a positive, the growing population formed an expanding market from the east coast to the west coast. The economic growth directly affected the supply and demand for basic essentials for the needs of the country. As the population traveled west, supplies and goods that were needed also traveled west. The expansion of the railroads during the Gilded Age, in my opinion, alone was the most major change for our country.
When these major events occurred in the Gilded Age, it caused periods of success, failure, and sometimes overall no change. Some outcomes of these new ideas being formed caused corruption, but led to the government and politics becoming much stronger and more organized. Most of the ideas published wanted to increase wealth and rivalries between businesses. Even though the Gilded Age benefited with the reforms created and fell with it’s poor use of money, it helped create the way we run our government
Primary Source Analysis- During the time of reconstruction, which was after the civil war, the government passed the 13, 14, and 15th amendment to give African Americas freedom and rights. The 15th amendment gave the former African American slaves the right to vote. Between 1890 and 1906, the "new" south wanted to eliminate this right for the African Americans. Any African American who fought for their rights would be faced with violence known as lynching, murdering of three or more people.

Factories were paying far too little for someone to feed their whole family for that little, so many either would die or would turn to crime to survive; these laborers wanted equality. Men, women, and children were working and got employed in factories to work, and the dangerous and strenuous labor that children were put through to help the family expense caused many young children to die. Workers individually could not stop corporations, but collectively they could make an impact on their wages. The corporations eventually had to succumb to the pressure of labor supplies because the National Trade Union convinced the majority of the labor force to work from 12 hours a day to 10 hours. After the labor unions won, workers worked less, and they still had the same salary.
The invention of the cotton gin decreased labor and increased the production of usable cotton and the demand for items being made from it. Advancements being made in both water and land transportation led to explosive growth in cities and factories; thus improving the national economy little by little. All in all, the revolution taking place in the Americas after the war of 1812 turned the nation into the successful, worldwide marketplace we know of
Industrialist had a huge impact on the gilded age. The gilded age was a rapid expansion of industrialism and a massive jump in the population of immigrants in america. The industrialist during the gilded age such as Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, and Vanderbilt had a big impact because of their businesses. Vanderbilt was the first of the three to be a leader of industry. Vanderbilt made millions using the railroad system and built an empire with them.
Industrialization and Industrialists had many important impacts on America. The era of industrialization known as the " Gilded Age" opened up many new doors for the American people. The industrialist Andrew Carnegie had one of the biggest impacts on America by far. Carnegie was responsible for the production of steel.
During the gilded age, the United States of America was going through some tough innovations. Most of the Innovations changed the way people lived and worked. Many have called the period of 1865 to 1901 the “Gilded Age”, be-cause it was “shiny and pretty” on the outside but it was “rough and ugly” underneath. The term“Gilded Age” was actually coined by Mark Twain who satired the Gilded Age with a GoldenAge.
The Guilded age was a period of wealth and improvement which was used to cover up poverty and corruption inside the united states. Eventhough there were lots of improvements, not only in technology but also in society, there were lots of problems. Problems such as corruption and poverty. As time went on people started to realise this problems and some got improved, but others didn’t. This gilded age was a problem.
What was the Gilded Age and why did Mark Twain refer to it as such? To help understand this question, one must know the meaning of the word gild. Per Merriam Webster, the term gild means to “to give an attractive but often deceptive appearance to” (Gild, n.d.). After the Civil War the American people had become tired of all the corruption and simply wanted to see an end to it and to have a stable economy. The Gilded Age was fashioned to be prosperous times for all Americans, promising wealth, and an end to past political corruption.
The Robber Barons forced the workers to work very long hours for very little pay. The workers were kids from the age 6 to 13, and they were usually immigrants.
