Infertility is a prevalent issue that has been growing in the past years. Although there has been new technology to help couples whom suffer from infertility issues, it is still a large issue in the United States alone. Infertility of a woman or a man can be caused by a number of things. In an intimate relationship, the issue of infertility can cause communication barriers and problems as well as trouble with adjusting to the fact that conceiving children is not a feasible option in their future. Infertile couples are presented with many challenges throughout their quest for fertility, children, and expanding their family. These couples struggle emotionally, psychosocially, communicatively, cognitively, spiritually and often economically (Ghahiri et al, 2015). Although there are many infertility treatments available present day, they are very expensive and take a toll physically and mentally due to their relatively low success rates. It is important for infertility issues to be portrayed more often in the media because it could help stop the stigma and taboo of infertility (Ghahiri et al, 2015). The stigma can contribute to a higher stress level of an infertile couple and slow down or even stop the process of adjustment for the couple. If this stigma is coming from the couple’s families then it will also negatively affect the couple’s adjustment and acceptance of their infertility. This is because infertile couples who have a strong support system are much more likely to adjust and accept their new reality than infertile couples whom have little to no support system (Ghahiri et al,
