On January 29, 1991, a vile crime occurred in the Heikkila home in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Twenty-year-old Matthew Heikkila, the adopted son of Richard and Dawn Heikkila loaded up a “sawed-off 20-gauge shotgun” (Sullivan). He labeled shotgun shells “Mom” and “Dad”, and shot his parents both in the head. Matthew plotted the murder to get the chance to steal his parent’s credit cards, and treat his girlfriend to a birthday dinner. Matthew then left his parent’s dead bodies on the floor of his home and he and his girlfriend enjoyed a night in NYC.
Thank you for selecting W.E.B Dubois. I admire him because he was one of the most influential African-American activist who co-founded the NAACP and supported Pan-Africanism. The attribute that I respect the most is the courage he exhibited when he dared to challenge an oppressive society in which he lived to improve the conditions of African-American people. The ideology of the movement that he supported could have cost him his life, but the liberation of the masses was more important than the fear of
One cold fall night in 1738, while everyone was sleeping in the town, an unidentified man was roaming the streets. He stopped when he saw the house with the magic ice skates. He creeped into the house and went into the kitchen, and there there it was... the ice skates. On top of the ice skates was a colorful sign that said, “Kiz Wafleaka.”
She was the most listened to DJ during World War II, yet the legend of the Tokyo Rose is hardly remembered today. Ikuko “Iva” Toguri, later known as Iva Toguri d’Aquino was an American- Japanese propagandist during World War II. Throughout the war, Toguri broadcasted for Zero Hour under the name of “Orphan Ann”, however she was commonly referred to as “Tokyo Rose” by the American and Australia soldiers. This radio propaganda aimed to demoralize the troops serving in the Pacific, however it was also intentionally used to comfort them. After the war, Iva Toguri was returned to her homeland and convicted for treason, however she was later granted a president’s pardon and died in 2006 as an undisputed American citizen.
Makayla is a use first sequence, which can be very beneficial as long as it’s not hindering her life or work. After reading her story it looks like she’s not using all of her patterns and gets stuck on one, she needs to take some risks and think outside the box to get stuff done. I don’t know exactly what her confluence score is but it looks like it’s a low one since she’s not using it, she needs to be using it as needed to help her with her school and life. John is a use first precise
King Kamehameha was an intelligent and creative person because instead of killing Young and Davis (Foreign advisors) he made a deal with them. Also, he used foreign battle strategies like putting cannons on high ground and killing anyone below. Kamehameha used these foreign battle strategies and weaponry to conquer the 8 hawaiian islands, he wanted to unite the hawaiian islands so there can be trade and peace to their kingdom. Kamehameha was a great leader, his name meant “the lonely one”, that wasn’t even his real name, his birth name was Pai’ea.
“Our sense of self is influenced by our interactions with our environment” The interactions a person encounters are an essential part in the formation of identity. In Peter Skrzynecki’s poem, Feliks Skrzynecki, a linguistic barrier between the father and son is present due to persona, Peter’s lack of cultural identity. The poem examines the relationship with his father explores how he has a constantly changing identity as he encounters his surroundings. Similarly, in Postcard, the persona’s identity is altered through the interactions he has with the environment around him.

Elie Wiesel deserves this award because he strong, an amazing leader, and most of all, he is
The Heraia Games were games much like those of the Olympics, except they were in the honor of Hera. The Heraia Games were started in 6 AD by Queen Hippodameia. They were the first events to ever be held in the Olympic stadium. Like the Olympics, they rotated every four years, but because they were the first event to ever occur in the Olympic Stadium, they were always one year earlier than the Olympics.
Although he died, there was not another musician as popular as Louis Armstrong. Even years after he has passed, remakes of his songs when to the top of charts (Source A). Overall, Louis Armstrong has made the world we live in a more diverse and creative environment. He should be
I am glad to know much about Catherine Hardwicke from you. I also think highly of her because it was when she was at age of 48 years old that she directed her first feature length movie. I admire those who are able to keep doing in their quest for their dream. Hardwicke attended film school when she was almost thirty. Hardwicke take an advantage of her position, a production designer, which gave her a chance to learn from other directors.
Fr Damien of Molokai also known as Joseph or Jozef de Veuster or simply Father Damian was canonised October 11t, 2009 having a feast day on May 10 had devoted his life to missionary work on helping Hawaiians that have leprosy. He was born in a rural zone in Belgium and is the youngest of 7 seven children. As replacement for his brother known as Father Pamphile who was sick at the time had been sent as a missionary in 1863 to the Sandwich islands in Hawaii. Arriving in Honolulu one year later he became a priest the same year. Because Damian was a emotional person and understood the hardships of the people populating the islands, he was moved by the fact that they had leprosy and was forced to move because of the Hawaiian government he volunteered to take charge of the settlement and because of that, after his death many in the world knew about the disease.
During my free time, I read books that are related to religion, classic, and fiction genres. My first encounter with books had started before I joined a school. My parents, who are still in the teaching profession, had an important role to play in my book reading abilities. My dad, Elly Omondi, was a high school teacher when he started to read me ‘The Adventures of Isha’. The book is written by a famous Scottish author, William Salmond, who spent most of his life in Ghana.
On September 8th at 8 pm, my father and I met in my bedroom. I was ready to type as he was calling my grandfather in Japan. Tenichi Mitsumura was born on the fifth of April, 1948. He enjoys playing golf and collecting art. You would think that a strong businessman like himself would have gone to college—let alone high school—but that was not the path he decided to take.
