You go into a store to get some chips or a Coca-Cola, soon, thereafter you walk to the back of the store, where the candy section is. As you walk and grab some potato chips, the cashier yells “Hey put that back!” You wonder to yourself, “am I allowed to buy this or does he not want me to?” You go up to the counter and before he explains what happened, and why he yells, he tells you to put your hands up and don't go anywhere. You sit there for a while looking like you're reaching for something on a top shelf, a man with a uniform and badge comes walking in through the front door.
Blackfish (2013) is an American documentary film directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite and produced by Manuel V. Oteyza. The documentary primarily concerns the controversy of captured Killer Whales at the theme park Sea World, primarily that of Tilikum, an Orca responsible for the deaths of 2010 SeaWorld trainer Dawn Brancheau and two other individuals. The documentary begins with this incident but goes as far back to the 1970 's show the audience how young Orcas are captured in the wild and taken from their families and natural environments. Since its release at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival Blackfish has achieved both critical acclaim and caused controversy regarding SeaWorld 's treatment of its animals as well as retaliation from SeaWorld as to the legitimacy of the film 's claims.
A shark net is a submerged net placed around beaches to reduce sharks attacks. on swimmers It does not always stop shark attacks, but it does help reduce them. A shark net is normally about 6m tall and 200m wide and floats below the surface of the water. They stop and capture the sharks in the net. I believe that we should use shark nets more, because it keeps people safe and also keeps the sharks away from the swimming beaches.
Blackfish is a documentary written about the cruel way the killer whales are treated in SeaWorld. The documentary explains the circumstances in which the killer whales are caught, and the small spaces these huge animals are allowed to live in, which leads to short life span and aggravated behaviors of the otherwise gentle Orcas. The maltreatment is believed to have led the death of several trainers in Canada, America, and Spain, as the killer whales grew increasingly agitated with their conditions. A good documentary film must have a captivating storyline, real interviews, facts and statistics to back up claims, and actual footage. There are several documentaries being released on a weekly basis, in which "claims," are made but later repealed.
Do you remember that day that you and your family took a trip to that one park? That one that you got to see many different types of sea animals, dolphins putting on shows, and getting to even interact with the sea animals in a great learning experience. That park is SeaWorld. When you were there, you might have not noticed the stuff that was happening behind the scenes. Lately, the animals have been very sad and not living healthy lives.
A child 's face fills with excitement as they enter a huge building that largely proclaims a sign that says ´SeaWorld. ´ The thrill of seeing animals that they don 't normally see fills the child to the brim. Their elated feelings rise as they walk into the Shamu Stadium, with an announcer welcoming them. They 're so happy that they don 't realize that they 're about to witness inhumane acts for entertainment. Sea World is an inhumane facility, and needs to be shut down.
Shark fin soup is of chinese origin and it is treated as a delicacy. It is a sign of wealth, each bowl is a $100 us dollars and it is usually served at business banquets and weddings. There is little to no taste in the shark fin and it is the most expensive type of fish in the fish market, there is no real purpose to why Rodriguez 3 humans should capture and kill sharks inhumanely; they are only harming the ecosystem. Sharks have been in this world for more than 450 million years they are the oldest species alive, they are older than dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are now extinct and sharks are not but if shark finning does not stop they will soon be extinct.
After the movie Jaws came out people thought it would be macho to go and hunt sharks. There would be killing tournaments to see who could get the biggest shark. The biggest shark that was ever caught was a 20 foot long great white shark. People are also overfishing sharks. There is a huge problem with finning for shark steaks or shark fin soup.
Within the class WGSY1Y, there is much talk about femininity, aboriginal status and the sex/gender binary. In writing this assignment; I hope to explain, in depth, what the binary is as a whole, as well as touch upon the more complicated aspects of gender. The sex/gender binary is essentially meant to explain our boundaries. We, as humans, have created two categories that we are socialized into at birth.
Marine organisms are animals, plants, and other living things that live in the ocean. A Marine biologist is a scientist who studies marine organisms and studies the bodies, behavior, and the history of marine organisms. They also study how marine organisms interact with each other and their environment. I have chosen to research about Marine biology because I would like to learn about sea life, the ocean, and its surrounding environment. To start off, a Marine biologist might study coral, crabs, fish, microscopic marine organisms, sea stars, seaweed, squid, or whales.
You take a huge breath in your scuba mask. You dive into the water you, open your eyes. It’s all bright and colorful. You see multiple animals. There is some that are ugly but you see the most beautiful fish.
In my opinion, I believe that marine mammals should not be held in captivity for many reasons. To start, they are taking away the animals from their natural habitat. Secondly, captivity causes both major and minor health problems. Another significant reason is that the poor marine creatures do not have enough space to swim resulting in severe boredom and causing them to do harm to themselves Captivity causes many health problems for the innocent marine mammals. There was an incident when Six of Marineland 's seals were blinded, or got serious eye problems because of the unclean water.
Surfing is an exciting and casual sport that is performed by using a surfboard to ride breaking waves towards the shore. Typically, this is done on a beach. New advances in technology have now made it possible to surf on land with the help of a wave pool. When you think of surfing, California, Australia, and Hawaii tend to pop into people's minds. Though surfing is big in all three of these places, it is a fun activity that is practiced all over the world.
