Have you ever lost so many bodily fluids that you started to turn blue and gray? Have you noticed white specks in your poop? Have you been extremely thirsty lately? What’s rice water stool you might ask. Well, I’m here to tell you that the answer to all of these questions is cholera. Now I’m gonna tell you about Cholera and answer any questions that you may have. What causes cholera? Cholera is a infection found in the intestines. This is an infection caused by the bacterium Vibrio Cholerae. You can get the bacterium by drinking contaminated water or by eating uncooked food, such as sushi or even raw vegetables. CTX is a potent toxin that causes the deadly symptoms. You shouldn’t worry too much though, because you need to ingest over a million bacteria in order to get the infection. Cholera is found in countries such as Haiti and Madagascar and other African countries. These countries are poor and can sometimes not afford to get everyone in their country clean and safe water or food. If someone in these countries contracts this disease, they often can’t fight it off because the only water they have is dirty or contaminated. They also don’t have very good doctors and they probably don’t know what they have or how to cure it. It’s very sad because a lot of the time children get it and die at such a young age. Is cholera contagious? Cholera is very contagious and can be passed from person to person. It can be transferred from infected fecal matter that enters through the mouth or contaminated water or food. Cholera has been around for a long time. It is a very bad disease and sometimes can be deadly. It is very important to remember to drink clean water and eat cooked foods. If you were to get the disease it is very important that you drink a lot of water. It takes over a million bacteria to contract the disease, which seems like a lot but it is still pretty easy to get.
