As part of human nature, we’re accustomed to following a set of rules to have an orderly and peaceful lifestyle. Usually, if those rules are disobeyed, destruction and disorder are bound to come our way. Usually, a well-built society derives from a strong leader who has the characteristics of guiding people to do the right actions. Such an example would be Beowulf who is viewed as a God-like hero and is highly respected.
In chapter twelve in the Lord of the Flies, the major theme of evil vs. good is very similar to what is portrayed in the song “Stronger”. His case is taken to court where he fights against the highly exalted paragon of religious devotion, Matthew Harrison Brady. Henry Drummond, an almighty but rather infamous attorney, stands by and defends Cates throughout the whole trial. In the midst of this all, Cates’ lover, Rachel Brown, is torn between her love
“The man who has everything figured out is a fool...it takes a smart fella to say, ‘I don’t know the answer’ ” (Lawrence and Lee 55). This quote was stated by Henry Drummond, a protagonist in the play Inherit the Wind, written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. The quote is ironic because Drummond is stating that although it is important to know the truth behind something, it is just as important to know when an individual is wrong. In the play, one learns how the surface of things never truly reveals how they really are.
