In life eventually all things fall apart once people lose something they once loved insanity is soon to follow as the person struggles to cope with such a great loss. One example of this is found throughout the tragedy Hamlet. Hamlet shows us that revenge is never the answer for if you dedicate your life to revenge at the end you still have nothing and in his case your have less. Hamlet had a love for his father like most sons do and once he hears or thinks that his new father was the culprit of his father’s death he loses his mind. The once great scholar became a maniac who only thought of revenge. Also this also all ultimately led to the epic duel between Hamlet and Laertes the brother of Ophelia and the son of Polonius the man accidentally killed by Hamlet. This duel was a plot devised by King Claudius and Laertes to kill Hamlet. Laertes used a poisoned tip blade in the duel after the killing of his father and becoming enraged after seeing his once noble sister go insane all because of the actions of Hamlet he also had a need for revenge. Before the duel begins Hamlet authenticity apologizes to Laertes who now questions whether he should still wish to kill this man. No matter the duel begins and Hamlet begins the duel by scoring the first few. King Claudius offers Hamlet a glass which he has secretly poisoned but. Hamlet refuses and his mother ends up drinking it. During the duel Hamlet and Laertes ended up switching blades and Laertes poisoned blade backfires on him and leds to his own death.
