I had no interest in seeing Inside Out. I never even saw a trailer for it until today. The trailer won me over so I decided to give it a shot. I knew Pixar had been faltering in quality, so I hoped this film might return Pixar to their roots.
This makes me all the more glad to say that it has. Inside Out is without a doubt one of Pixar 's most daring, mature, and thought provoking films. It is a film not for kids, but for anyone who has ever felt sad, joyful, disgusted, afraid, and angry. By that I mean it is for everyone. Inside Out follows an eleven year old girl named Riley. As expected of Pixar, the animation is top notch. The colors are vibrant but not distracting. The character designs are imaginative and on point. The settings are varied, freshly original, and playfully exciting. The soundtrack is also top notch Pixar quality. The performances of the voice actors is nothing short of great, especially in the emotional scenes. I had no idea Kyle MacLachlan was in this! And as expected he was fantastic. I didn 't really feel like "Oh I know that voice" at all in the film and was shocked upon seeing the credits. They all did fantastic jobs at becoming their characters and I commend them
