Mistakes that happen when they were going to their destination made them meet. Interconnectedness is everywhere throughout the book. It connects the characters together and creates a relationship. One of the most significant themes in the book is interconnectedness. Throughout the book, everything is connected to create what they are going through. The lesson we learn is that we must realize that our decisions are connected. The first example is about how Natasha and her attorney were connected by the same drunk driver. “She’s not paying enough attention to realize that a guy in a white BMW is about to run that red light.” “Jeremy Fitzgerald was crossing the street when a drunk and distraught man-an insurance actuary- in a white BMW hit him at twenty miles per hour.” (pg. 60, 117). The quote means that Natasha almost got hit by a guy driving a BMW, then her attorney got hit by the same car a couple of hours later. They were all connected because it was the same drunk person controlling the car. They both almost got severely injured by the same person and don’t know it.
