Interpreting Consciousness

1012 Words5 Pages

Is consciousness real or imagined? Consciousness is something every living human has experienced. The understanding of consciousness is in depth and complex which means there are many ways to interpret consciousness. The fact that consciousness can’t be denied but yet can’t be proven or fully explained really sparked an interest what we do actually know about consciousness. We do not have a scientifically proven explanation on how to fully interpret consciousness. There are a few things that need to happen or change before we can achieve this. Nikola Tesla said it best, “The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.” Existing physics laws …show more content…

Einstein’s theory of speed of light theorizes that time slows down and space contracts the faster you go. Within traveling the speed of light itself, time stops, space and distance disappears. Physics ignore this because they say nothing can travel at the speed of light but light travels at the speed of light. Physics ignore this because they say nothing can travel at the speed of light but light travels at the speed of light. Is there a connection between that fact that light has no mass and also consciousness has no mass? Science needs to accept consciousness as an absolute to build from just like having to access to build the fundamental absolute of speed of light, gravity and quantum mechanics. These theories for exploration on consciousness were discussed in the documentary, Bigger Questions The Psychic Matrix (Ron James, 2008).

Nikola Tesla said, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”

That this occurrence happens frequently throughout theoretical studies was eye-opening for me. To me, it contradicts their denial of non-materialized matter. If matter hasn’t materialized, it can’t be classified as real or reality in physics, which we hear over and over through explanations. But since this observer phenomenon has been documented in multiple studies there has to be some undetected data particles absorbed and transferred into materialized matter.

The standard limitation of reality is also reflected in the relationship of parapsychology and the philosophy of science. Bringing them together requires the development of new concepts that may include a trans personal approach (i.e., research on non-ordinary states of consciousness, including hallucinogenic experiences and the mystical states of world religions) (Castro, p107).

Biologist Rupert Sheldrake (2004) claims that there are signs indicating the existence of a seventh sense. He suggests that we adopt a broader point of view in which not only the human mind but also the animal mind leaves the body and projects itself towards the outer world. He believes that mental fields that extend themselves beyond the brain may help to explain telepathy(Castro,
