The Seven Rays Theory, although esoteric in itself, contains the basic elements of the incarnation of the powers of consciousness. In other words, it is a psychological profile done from a spiritual perspective.
The diagram illustrates the disposition of the seven rays or basic motivations (strength types) of a human psyche.

THE SEVEN RAYS

The three basic powers of consciousness, as we see, are: power (will), love and thought. We all have these forms of energy in different proportions. When they are manifested in a human being, these forms of energy are also altered by the orientation of our personal consciousness (inwards or outwards). The most prominent ray is what determines a person’s nature. When we discuss the different signs and planets we will refer back to the rays, because the powers of the rays are influenced by the planets.
Understanding your personal ray gives you much insight into your individual characteristics and tastes, as well as your relationship style, strengths and potential talents/hidden assets.

Brief Description of the Seven Spiritual Ray Types

Ray Number 1: Introverted Power (Will)

The man/woman of the first ray is very dear to the Hindu culture in general. Its type predominates in India as well as in other oriental cultures. “Self-rule or self-dependence,” said Manu, “is happiness; rule by others is misery.” This is exactly the sentiment of the man of the first ray, which is the first of the three rays of independence and intuition. The positive expression of this sort of love is wisdom, manifesting itself as the kind of sympathy which interprets the state of consciousness in other beings and uses this knowledge of the heart to deal with them. In modern times we have come to know this ability as “EQ”, or emotional intelligence. It is a type of feeling – a “knowing”, which connects the individual of the second ray with other beings.
People of this ray make the best teachers and doctors. Doctors who take a keen interest in their patients are the best healers. There is a true story, exemplified in the movie Patch Adams, where actor Robin Williams makes a magnificent demonstration of the power of the second ray in the medical
