Although freedom of speech exists in many parts of the world, there are some topics which may be too delicate to discuss. Quite possibly one of the most fragile is the subject of religion. There are various kinds which are practiced in different parts of the world. The sensitivity of this topic is an unspoken fact, but many seek to explore religion in a more in-depth way.
Contrary to many people’s beliefs, learning about how other religions can be very advantageous. It can provide one with the information needed to gain a better understanding of those who are unlike them. When comparing likenesses, both religions utilize and display pictures and symbols to represent their religions. Also, Christians and Buddhists strongly believe in constantly exhibiting kindness and consideration for all of mankind. This is their purpose in life in general. Both religious groups believe that the afterlife will be more prosperous if goodwill is practiced faithfully. When contrasting the two, there are major differences between the two religions. Christians profess their love and worship Jesus Christ, while Buddhists do not have a designated figure of worship. This can be confusing to some who assumed that Buddha was the religious figure which Buddhists prayed to. Indeed, his teachings are followed carefully and incorporated into Buddhists’ daily lives, but this group chooses to pray for peace rather than pray to a particular person. In addition, Buddhists do not believe in one creator as Christians do. They do not incorporate salvation in their teachings because to them it does not exist.
