The 19th century was a difficult time for many women and blacks because of the domination of white men over them. The social and economic hardships they faced in day to day life was a constant reminder of this domination. In the story “Desiree’s Baby” the interracial couple were in love, but they split up because of interracial prejudice, just like couples today.
The meaning of true love is to be in a complete and total bond with each other and care for each other when others flee. When one thinks love, that person probably thinks of things they have in common with their loved one, and the fun the couple has had together. The similarities the couple had together is just an outer edge of what true love really means. True love will make one happy above all the other aspects.
Prejudice means harm or injury that results or may result from some action or judgement. Prejudice is also found between gender, religion, cultural, and geographical background, and race. People have discriminated against others based upon these attributes from the beginning of time.
